Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information the Sorcerer Quiz mobile app collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to the Sorcerer Quiz app on iOS and Android and to this website.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Account details. When you register we store your email address and a display name. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the email address and name associated with that account. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we only ever see Apple's private relay address.
• Profile picture. Optional. If you upload one from your camera or photo library, the image is stored in Firebase Storage and shown to other players on leaderboards and profiles.
• Content you submit. Friend requests, challenges, and question reports you send through the app.

Information collected automatically

• Gameplay data. Quiz answers, scores, streaks, achievements, and leaderboard position, so the game can keep your progress.
• Device and diagnostic data. Crash reports and basic app-usage events through Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics, used to find and fix bugs.
• Push token. If you allow notifications, we store your device's push token so we can notify you about friend requests, challenges, and new quizzes.
• Advertising identifier. Used by Google AdMob to serve ads. On iOS we ask for your permission first through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, and we do not use the identifier for tracking if you decline.

2. How we use your information

• To create and maintain your account and keep your game progress.
• To run social features: leaderboards, friends, and challenges.
• To deliver push notifications you have opted in to.
• To show advertising, which keeps the quizzes free for players who do not subscribe.
• To process and verify PRO subscriptions.
• To diagnose crashes, prevent abuse, and improve the app.

3. Subscriptions and payments

Sorcerer Quiz PRO is an auto-renewing subscription sold through the Apple App Store and Google Play. We never receive or store your payment card details. Payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google.

We use RevenueCat, Inc. to verify purchases and manage entitlements. RevenueCat receives your app user ID and the purchase receipt issued by the store so it can tell us whether your subscription is active. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

4. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers needed to run the app:

We may also disclose information if we are legally required to do so, or where necessary to protect our rights or the safety of our players.

5. Your choices

• Notifications. Turn push notifications off at any time in your device settings.
• Personalised ads. On iOS, revoke tracking permission under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. On Android, reset or delete your advertising ID in Google settings.
• Profile picture and display name. Change or remove them at any time from your profile screen in the app.

6. Deleting your account

You can delete your account from within the app, which removes your profile, gameplay history, friends, and uploaded avatar. You can also ask us through our contact form and we will delete your account and associated data within 30 days. Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription — cancel that through the App Store or Google Play.

7. Data retention and security

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. Crash and analytics data is retained on Firebase's standard retention schedule. Data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure and protected in transit with TLS. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information.

8. Children

Sorcerer Quiz is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International transfers

Our providers process data on servers in the United States and elsewhere. By using the app you consent to your information being transferred to and processed in those countries.

10. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
